Battle of the Assholes: Goose vs. Piranha
This sketch was originally used to create a woodblock reduction print for my printmaking class. We had to find a location on campus, recreate it, and then add elements that tell a story or create a mood.
I picked picked Theta Pond, which is actually very pretty and relaxing place found near the student union (although you wouldn’t know it from this sketch.) The geese there are total territorial cockwads though, and there used to be an urban legend where students would dump pet piranha in the pond at the end of the year, who would then devour random waterfowl on a whim, only to wind up dead come the following winter (like I said, urban legend.) So it only seemed natural that these two would wage war against one another.
I wasn’t happy with how the print turned out since it was the first one I’d ever done, but this sketch still makes me chuckle.
